With the encouragement of the St. Louis Park Historical Society, a fifty year reunion of the St. Louis Park Parkettes is scheduled for April 22, 2006! The Parkettes were a dance organization that began in 1956, by and for St. Louis Park high school girls. The Parkettes were cheerleaders for the Minneapolis Lakers basketball team until the team moved to Los Angeles in 1960. In 1963, they became the Minnesota Vikings cheerleaders.
